I agree. > Regarding your question #3: > Sorry, I don't know the names of any current Palestinian prisoners in Israeli > jails. This is surprising. > Ahed Tamimi is one who comes to mind who was previously jailed. I was looking for, and have found some information about Ahed Tamimi on the web. Here is a short summary of my today findings, along with my comments. Please keep in mind that I am unable to verify online information, and I am not a lawyer. 1. Ahed Tamimi along with her mother and cousin Nour, approached two soldiers outside the Tamimi home, and were filmed slapping, kicking, and shoving them; the soldiers did not retaliate. [I failed to find the immediate reason for the attack, and surprised by soldiers lack of response.] 2. In 2018 Israeli military prosecutors have charged her with assault and 4 other charges. She has received an eight-month prison sentence. Here I pause for a second, and look at U.S. Code Paragraph 111, ASSAULT ON FEDERAL OFFICER: "whoever forcibly assaults, resists, opposes, impedes, intimidates, or interferes with any person (or formerly served) designated in section 1114 of this title who are engaged in the performance of official duties, shall be fined and imprisoned for up to one year for simple assault, and up to eight years where such acts involve physical contact with the victim of that assault" The eight-month Israeli prison sentence as compared to the US "up to eight years" looks pretty lenient. I was curious as to what is going on with Ahed Tamimi today. On November 4, 2023 American Thinker (an online publication) quoted Ahed Tamimi: "Come on settlers, we will slaughter you. We are waiting for you in all the cities of the West Bank. What Hitler did to you was a picnic. We will drink your blood and eat your skulls." This reminds the fate of a German-Israeli woman Shani Nicole Louk, 23, who was seized by Hamas from a music festival on Oct. 7 and paraded half naked around Gaza by Hamas, then apparently beheaded (her skull was removed from the body). I glanced through readers' comments, and found more than once "How do you respond to this level of hate? There is no living with these people, they must be destroyed." Finally I want to comment on Administrative Detention. My understanding is that this is a terrible practice (regardless to whom it applied). Although it came to Israel from the Great Britain, this is a shame for the Israeli judicial system.
